Insights and Innovations: DME Magazines

In March 2019, the Société d'Énergie et d'Eau du Gabon (SEEG) witnessed a remarkable stride in its commitment to enhancing energy distribution and management with the release of the DME Journal. As the Head of the Statistical Division, I had the distinct pleasure of spearheading this edition, which was both a reflection of our ongoing challenges and a manifesto of our innovative responses.

The DME (Division Mouvements d’Énergie) Journal is more than just a publication; it is a crucial communication tool that brings to light the operational intricacies and strategic undertakings of SEEG. Our March edition particularly focused on addressing the problem of non-distributed energy—a significant issue that impacts both our efficiency and customer satisfaction.

This edition covered several critical areas:

  • Energy Management : We delved into the challenges of managing peak demands, especially during high-demand seasons, and the strategies to mitigate the shortfall in energy production.
  • Technological Innovations : The introduction of advanced telecontrol systems like E-terra Control and Cimview has revolutionized how we manage our high and medium voltage networks, offering real-time solutions to enhance reliability and service delivery.
  • Operational Challenges and Solutions : The journal outlined the specific incidents of energy supply interruptions and the technical responses that followed, providing a clear picture of our commitment to maintaining energy stability and security.

La problématique de l'END (Energie non distribuée)

This article delves into the challenges associated with non-distributed energy within the SEEG network, discussing the economic and customer service impacts of energy that is generated but not delivered to consumers. It outlines the strategies SEEG is implementing to minimize these losses, including infrastructure improvements and technology upgrades to enhance the overall efficiency of the energy supply chain.

La valorisation de l'END

Focusing on the economic implications of non-distributed energy, this article explains the methods used by SEEG to quantify the costs and impacts of END. This valuation is critical for justifying investments in the network and is used to prioritize actions that can significantly reduce energy losses, thereby improving both financial health and service quality for SEEG.

As the head of the division, I emphasized the importance of data in driving operational excellence. This edition featured comprehensive statistics on energy production, distribution, and consumption patterns, highlighting our efforts in optimizing energy management through precise, data-driven decisions. The DME Journal not only recounted our past achievements and current endeavors but also set the stage for future initiatives. It underscored our ongoing projects, such as the anticipated enhancements in our telecontrol systems and the strategic plans to expand our energy production capabilities to meet growing demands.

The March 2019 edition of the DME Journal is a testament to SEEG's resilience and innovation in the face of operational challenges. It serves as a reminder of our unwavering commitment to improving every facet of our operations and ensuring that we continue to deliver reliable and sustainable energy solutions to all our customers. Through this publication, we not only share our journey but also reinforce our core mission to empower development through energy. As we move forward, we remain dedicated to transparency, innovation, and the relentless pursuit of excellence.
